How it works
Prequalification is how bigger clients check you before they let you on site. The scoring is picky, requirements differ between schemes, and most of the work is digging out evidence you already have somewhere.
We do the digging for you. We check your system against the scheme's requirements, write what's missing, gather the records and put the submission together. When the assessor comes back with questions, we answer them.
Documents only do their job once they are in use. A submission shows how you work, so the system has to match what actually happens on site, and that part stays with you.
1. A first look. We find out which scheme and which grade your client needs, then check what you already have.
2. The gap list. We compare your system against the scheme's requirements and tell you what's missing.
3. The work. We write the missing documents, fix the ones that won't pass, and gather the records and certificates the scheme wants to see.
4. The submission. We complete the submission and lodge it with you, then answer the assessor's follow-up questions. The declaration is yours to make, so you see it all before it goes.
5. The renewal. Prequalifications expire. We'll let you know when yours is coming up and prepare the next one.

Common questions
How long does it take?
It depends on how much is missing and how quickly certificates and records come back from other people. The scheme's own assessment time sits on top of that and is set by the scheme, not by us. If you have a tender deadline, tell us the date and we'll tell you honestly whether it's doable.
What does it cost?
It depends on the scheme, the grade and how much of your current system already stacks up. We quote a one-off fixed price for the agreed scope before we start.
Can you guarantee we'll pass?
No, and nobody honestly can. The scheme's assessor makes that call. What we can do is make sure the submission answers what's asked and that the evidence is there. If the assessor comes back with questions, dealing with those is part of the job.
What's the difference between Tōtika and SiteWise?
Tōtika is a national prequalification standard administered by CHASNZ (Construction Health and Safety New Zealand), and SHE Pre-Qual is one of the schemes that assesses against it. SiteWise is Site Safe's own scheme and sits outside Tōtika. Which one you need depends on what your client accepts.
Do we get to choose the scheme?
Usually your client tells you which one they accept. Some accept any Tōtika-aligned scheme, others ask for SiteWise specifically. Send us what your client asked for and we'll tell you which one you need.
